I'm really struggling to watch 4K videos on YouTube because they keep buffering endlessly. I've checked the task manager and it shows my browser using up to 600 Mbps of network speed, but YouTube seems to just hang there and buffer. This issue occurs on multiple browsers including Firefox, Chrome, and Opera, regardless of whether I use adblock or have hardware acceleration enabled or disabled. I doubt it's my ISP since my internet connection works fine for everything else.

Have you checked 4K streaming on other platforms? It could be that the 4K playback is resource-heavy, so ensure your system has enough RAM and storage space. After a video has buffered, does it play smoothly? Also, try playing a local 4K video file to see if the issue persists. And don't forget to check if you have any web extensions on your browsers that might be causing conflicts.
Have you tried disabling any VPN you're using? Sometimes VPNs can cause buffering issues. I had a similar problem with NordVPN after an update that made its Web Protection feature overly aggressive, blocking access to Google trackers. It might be worth switching it off and testing again. Make sure to run 'ipconfig /flushdns' in Command Prompt to clear the DNS cache after making changes.
