Why isn’t my Intel i5 CPU reaching its max GHz while gaming?

I'm having trouble with my Intel Core i5 1035G1 CPU. Normally, it can hit 3.2 GHz when I'm not gaming, but while I am playing, it drops down to 2.5 GHz, and sometimes it even plummets to 0.99 GHz without a clear reason. I have a laptop with 8 GB of RAM and an NVIDIA MX 130. Does anyone have suggestions on how to tackle this issue?

Have you tried using MSI Afterburner to check your CPU and GPU usage, temperatures, and wattage? It can give you a good indication of whether your CPU is throttling due to heat or power limits. Just keep an eye on those GHz readings too; they can help pinpoint the problem.

That’s a good point! But does MSI Afterburner even work on laptops? The last time I tried it, my setup was not compatible and it just crashed.
