Why Isn’t My Shutdown Timer Working on Bazzite?

I've been using a shutdown timer on my Windows PC for a while, mainly to watch shows before falling asleep. After switching to Bazzite, I had some success initially, but now the timer only works for very short durations, like just a few minutes. I often wake up to find my computer in sleep mode instead of shut down. I've searched for a solution and haven't found anyone else experiencing this issue. I'm considering switching to a different distro, but I'm worried this problem might continue. Does anyone have any suggestions?

It sounds like the shutdown timer is getting overridden by your sleep timer. If your computer goes to sleep before the shutdown timer hits, it won't shut down. You might want to try disabling the sleep mode at the same time you set the shutdown timer. Sorry it’s a bit of a hassle. Good luck!

Thanks for the tip! I'm a bit bummed about having to manage the sleep settings, but it's better than going back to Windows.

Make sure to check any power settings in Bazzite. Sometimes different distros handle sleep and shutdown differently. It might help to adjust those settings to prevent the computer from sleeping before the timer goes off.
