Why Won't My Computer Start When I Connect the PSU to the CPU?

I'm having trouble with my PC. I connected everything from my power supply unit (PSU), but when I try to start it, the fan lights flash briefly and nothing else happens. However, if I disconnect the cable from the CPU, the PC powers on, but I get no signal to my monitor. Can anyone help me figure out what's going wrong?

It sounds like there may be an issue with your CPU power connectors. Make sure you've properly connected the 2+2 cable to your CPU. Sometimes, those connections need to be snug and properly seated, so double-check that. If everything looks good but it still doesn't work, there could be other issues at play.

PowerUpHero43: I checked the connectors, and they seem fine, but I'm not sure if there's another type of connector I might've missed. What should I look for?
