I'm having an issue with my computer where it sometimes won't wake up from sleep mode, or it won't even go to sleep properly. When I try to put it to sleep, the screen turns off, but the fans keep running, and I can't wake it up without a hard reboot. This started happening after I installed software like Zoom, OBS, HWiNFO, NVIDIA Control Panel, Norton 360 for Gamers, and Rockstar Launcher. I built my PC about a month ago and have a Gigabyte B760M Gaming Plus WiFi DDR4 motherboard, a 12th Gen Intel Core i5, and an RTX 3050. I'm not sure if it's a background process causing the hang-up or what. Help!

I've read that sleep mode can be kind of glitchy on Windows, especially with modern standby. Instead of letting your PC sleep, you might want to consider using hibernation or just shutting it down. Hibernation saves your session and powers down, which could work better for you. If you're running out for a bit, hibernating might be the way to go.
Honestly, it sounds like it might be that Norton 360 for Gamers is causing some weird background processes that interfere with sleep mode. If it's just sitting there and you're not using it, maybe consider uninstalling it. Windows Defender does a decent job if you keep everything updated and can be a lighter option.
I got Norton with my motherboard too! If I uninstall it, do you think Windows Defender will cover everything? I don't really want to risk being unprotected.

How do I actually enable hibernation? Is it just a setting in power options? I don’t want to mess it up!
