Why won’t my CPU cooler fit my motherboard?

I just purchased a MAG B850 Tomahawk Max WiFi motherboard and a Cooler Master Hyper 212 Halo Black edition CPU cooler, but I'm having trouble getting the bracket to fit properly. Since this is my first build, I'm unsure what size bracket I need or where to find the correct information. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!

It should fit! Just double-check that the bottom bracket is set up correctly. Go through the instructions again and pay special attention to how that bracket needs to be configured. You're definitely not the only one who's faced this issue.

First off, make sure you’re using the right mounting kit for your Cooler Master Hyper 212. Often, you need to remove the original bracket from your MAG B850 that’s intended for the stock cooler first.

I think I used the right bracket, but I'm having trouble getting it to line up with the holes on the motherboard.
