Why Won’t My Games Launch on Linux Mint?

I'm having trouble getting any games to launch, whether I try using Steam with Proton or open them with Wine. I'm running Linux Mint Cinnamon 22.3 with an RTX 5070 Ti and 5050 graphics card. I have the latest Nvidia drivers (version 580) installed, and I've made sure that secure boot is disabled. Any advice on what might be going wrong?

First off, it's important to know which specific games you're trying to run and if you're encountering any error messages. Also, since you're on Linux Mint, make sure you're aware of the filesystem type where the games are installed. Using NTFS can sometimes be tricky with Linux, especially for gaming. Try checking the compatibility for the games with Proton or Wine as well.

Always check your distro and hardware specifics when you face issues like this! You mentioned you're using Mint Cinnamon 22.3 and an RTX graphics card—that's good info. Also, if possible, try launching a game from the terminal to see if there are any error messages that might help diagnose the problem.
