Why won’t my PC recognize my headphones?

I've got a pair of headphones that work perfectly fine with my phone, and my PC recognizes Bluetooth AirPods without any issues. However, when I plug my wired headphones into the PC, it's just not detecting them. I've made sure both jacks are in the right place, but I'm still confused about what's going wrong.

Make sure you're plugging your headphones into the right spot. Are you using the motherboard's headphone jack or a slot on the case? Sometimes the case port can get finicky.

I'm using the case headphone slot. It's always worked there before, but for some reason, it's acting up now. Do you think the slot could be faulty?
