I left my PC running fine all weekend, but when I returned, it wouldn't turn on at all. The motherboard light is still on (it's an Asus Prime B450M-A II), but the system itself isn't responding. I tried shorting the pins on the motherboard, but nothing happened. I also tested the power supply unit (PSU) using the paperclip method, and that seemed to work. Recently, I swapped out the motherboard and case fans—could that be causing the issue?

Have you tried checking the power output from the PSU? Just because the PSU powers on doesn’t mean it's giving enough voltage. You might want to use a multimeter to confirm it’s working properly.
You can usually find the voltage specs on a sticker on the PSU as well. Make sure it's delivering the right levels.

Are you suggesting I measure it directly? That sounds like a good idea.
