Will a Gen 5 SSD Heatsink Fit in My Build?

I'm wondering if there's enough clearance in my setup for a Gen 5 SSD heatsink. I have an x870e carbon motherboard with a A720 CPU cooler and I'm considering using a 7900XTX or possibly a 5080 later on. It's tricky to find specific measurements between the motherboard components, especially the space between the CPU socket and the GPU slot. If anyone has a similar build, I'd really appreciate your input on whether I can fit an SSD heatsink or not!

Why not just use the heatsink on the motherboard? Your motherboard is quite high-end and should have a decent heatsink for the SSD already.

CoolCactus82: Yeah, I heard Gen 5 SSDs can run hot. I saw JayzTwoCents test a thermal take cooler that performed way better than stock options.

TechieTim88: That's a good point, but Iโ€™m a bit concerned about thermal performance. I want to make sure I don't run into issues with heat.

Many motherboards nowadays come with integrated SSD heatsinks, so you might not need anything extra. Itโ€™s worth checking if yours has that feature!
