Will a GTX 1650 Super bottleneck a Ryzen 5 5600?

I'm considering a budget gaming PC with a Ryzen 5 5600 and a GTX 1650 Super. I'm mainly planning to play Minecraft with decent shaders, along with other games, and I'm wondering whether the graphics card will hold back the processor too much. Is this pairing reasonable, or would I be better off saving money for a stronger GPU?

The processor is already a good budget choice. If this is an affordable prebuilt or used system, the combination is perfectly usable; Iโ€™d prioritize finding a better GPU rather than downgrading the Ryzen 5 5600. Just check the power supply, cooling, storage, and the exact graphics card model before buying.

In most games, the GTX 1650 Super will be the limiting component, not the Ryzen 5 5600. That isnโ€™t necessarily a problemโ€”GPU bottlenecks are normal and generally preferable for gaming. The 5600 is strong enough that you can upgrade the graphics card later without needing to replace the CPU.

Donโ€™t worry about eliminating bottlenecks entirely, since every PC has one somewhere. The 1650 Super is an older entry-level card, so it will limit demanding AAA games, but it should work fine for esports titles and Minecraft if your shader settings are reasonable.

The exact balance depends on the game, resolution, graphics settings, and frame-rate target. Competitive games such as Fortnite may use both the CPU and GPU heavily, while many others will simply max out the 1650 Super first. For Minecraft with shaders, expect the GPU to determine performance, so lighter shaders or reduced settings may be needed for smooth frame rates.
