I built my PC on a budget a few years ago, and I'm considering upgrading it. My current parts are a Ryzen 5 5500, RTX 2060, 450W power supply, 16GB of RAM, and an A320M-DVS R4.0 motherboard. I'm thinking about buying an RTX 5070 because it fits in my case. I understand that the power supply would need to be replaced, and I'm okay with the Ryzen 5 5500 limiting performance somewhat for now. Would the RTX 5070 work with my motherboard and 16GB of RAM? What power supply would you recommend, especially if I might eventually move to a newer CPU such as a Ryzen 9 9900X? I know that a future CPU upgrade like that would also require a new motherboard, but I'm only focusing on the GPU upgrade at the moment.

Compatibility isn’t the main problem—the 5070 should run in the system. The bigger issue is that the Ryzen 5 5500 and older A320 platform may prevent the card from reaching its full potential. You could still see a large improvement over the RTX 2060, but the results will depend on the game and resolution. Consider monitoring GPU usage after the upgrade; if the GPU is sitting well below full utilization while the CPU is maxed out, the processor is holding it back.
Rather than putting a 5070 into the current platform, you could consider a more balanced upgrade bundle with a newer CPU, motherboard, RAM, and PSU, then upgrade the graphics card later. On AM4, a Ryzen 7 5700X3D and a suitable B550 board would be a stronger gaming combination, while moving to AM5 would provide a better long-term upgrade path. The A320 board is quite limited for future CPU upgrades.
