I'm planning to build a gaming PC with an i7 14700F and a 5080 GPU, and I'm concerned about potential bottleneck issues. Can anyone provide some insights on whether these specs will work well together for gaming?

The performance may depend on your resolution. At 1080p, your CPU could hold back your FPS a bit, while at 4K, the GPU will take the lead in performance.

At 1440p or 4K, you’re good to go! Those specs are well-suited for higher resolutions.

It’s a bit odd to go for the 14700F in 2026, when AM5 is the more favored option. But as for bottlenecks, it’s all situational—some games will hit the CPU while others might be more GPU-heavy depending on what’s happening in-game! Just know that you have a solid CPU and GPU combo, so it should perform well overall.

What about swapping in a Ryzen 7 9800X3D instead?

No worries! Your setup should run just fine without serious bottlenecks.
