Will My New Power Supply Have Enough Fan Cables?

I just ordered all the parts for my new PC and I'm curious about whether I need to buy extra PWM cables. I got a fully modular power supply, but I'm not sure if it will come with enough cables for the two additional bequiet Pure Wings 3 fans I bought since those fans seem to not include their own cables. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

You'll typically find that fans have their own cables already attached, and they connect directly to the motherboard, not to the PSU or case. Just make sure your motherboard has enough fan headers for all your fans.

I checked the specs and my motherboard has 4 fan slots, which is perfect for what I need. Thanks for clearing that up!

Fans usually plug into the motherboard, but be mindful that many motherboards only have three fan headers. If you end up with more fans than headers, you might need a fan controller or a simple splitter. Keep in mind that RGB fans often require their own controllers too.

Fortunately, I have 4 connectors on my motherboard, so I think I'm in good shape. Thank you!

Most fans come with their own cables and plug into the headers on your motherboard. So you're likely good to go with what's included!

Awesome, that’s reassuring! Thanks for the help!

Fans generally have cables that are permanently wired to them. Though detachable options exist, they're quite rare, and Pure Wings 3 uses a standard method. You don't connect fans to the PSU; they're plugged into fan sockets on the motherboard or a fan hub powered by SATA. If you have more fans than headers, you'll need splitters or a hub.

Got it! My fans are 4-pin, and luckily my motherboard has 4 slots. I should be set! Thanks!
