I'm currently using an R5 5500 and planning to pair it with an RX 9060XT 16GB for gaming. I can't upgrade to AM5 right now but I'm thinking of upgrading my CPU later on. I'm mainly interested in playing games like Cyberpunk and Starfield at high settings. How much of a bottleneck should I expect from the R5 5500 with this graphics card?

That's similar to my setup—R5 5500 with a 3060 Ti. I’ve had some issues in Cyberpunk where the CPU seems to hold back the GPU. It often runs around 80% load and sometimes dips below 60 FPS, but I can still play on high settings with reduced crowd density. So, it is playable, but you'll hit some barriers.
The bottleneck shouldn't be too bad, though expect some limitations. The R5 5500 is roughly on par with the R5 3600, so while it will function, you might not get the absolute best performance in demanding games.
What resolution are you aiming for?
I'm looking at 1080p for now, possibly moving to 1440p later.
