Will My RTX 5060 Be Enough for GTA 6 at 2K?

I'm curious if Grand Theft Auto 6 is expected to support technologies like NTC and Reflex 2 on PC. I currently have an RTX 5060 card and want to play GTA 6 in 2K. Should I consider upgrading to a GPU with more VRAM soon, or can I hold out and hope that my 5060 will handle 2K AAA gaming when it releases?

Your RTX 5060 might struggle a bit with 1440p again. Some benchmarks show it can average around 65 fps in AAA games at that resolution. It's rumored that GTA 6 will be upscaled from 1440p to 4k at 30 fps for consoles, which means you could be looking at a similar performance at best. So, there's a chance you'll need to tweak your settings for better fps. Plus, I'm not convinced that GTA 6 will utilize NTC since it's still in testing, and Rockstar tends to stick with AMD for consoles.

GTA 6 is going to be released on consoles first, so it'll be a while—likely a year or more—before we see it on PC. Right now, there's no way to predict how well it'll run since the game isn't out yet. By the time it does come out, you might need an upgrade anyway, since your card won't be in its prime anymore.

Don't sweat it too much. Rockstar games are usually well optimized. Sure, there are concerns about performance, but they know how to make their games work across various systems. Just look at their past titles. They tend to surprise us with optimization, even if some of us might doubt it.

Remember that GTA 6 will also put a strain on your CPU. If you're using a mid-range processor, consider if it'll keep up with the demands of the game as well.
