My five-year-old laptop finally gave out, so I'm putting together a desktop that should last as long as possible. I'm willing to spend a little more for longevity, but I'm already near the limit of my budget. The main uses will be gaming and developing AI applications locally.
The current parts list is:

- NZXT H6 Flow RGB case
- Thermalright TL-M12Q 120mm rear fan
I may add two 140mm fans at the bottom later. I also have a 2TB drive from my old setup that I plan to reuse mainly for data storage. Do these parts fit together properly, and is there anything I should change for better reliability, cooling, or value? The build costs about €2,800 in Portugal, so I'm trying to make every part count.

The overall build is reasonable, although I’d look closely at the memory and storage before finalizing it. DDR5-6000 is a good target for Ryzen, but a CL30 kit would generally be preferable to CL36 if the price difference is small. A 1TB system drive may also fill quickly with modern games and development tools, so using the existing 2TB drive for larger files is a practical way to stay within budget. Adding the bottom intake fans later should help airflow, while the 850W power supply should be checked against the graphics card’s recommended wattage and connector requirements.
The intended use matters here, and gaming plus local AI makes the RTX 5080’s 16GB of VRAM particularly important. Your existing 2TB drive can be reused for data, which lets you keep the new NVMe drive focused on the operating system and applications. Before buying, double-check the exact dimensions and clearances in the parts list, but there is no obvious compatibility problem with the AM5 processor, B850 motherboard, DDR5 memory, case, and cooler.
