Windows 11 desktop has never been able to connect to Bluetooth devices

I have a desktop PC running Windows 11 Home version 25H2, and Bluetooth has never successfully connected to any device since I bought the computer. I've tried the built-in Bluetooth troubleshooter, checking for updates, restarting or reinstalling the Bluetooth drivers, restarting the Bluetooth Support Service, rebooting the PC, and running diagnostics, but nothing has helped. The only way I can use headphones is through the 3.5 mm audio jack, although Windows identifies them as speakers. Are there any other troubleshooting steps I should try, such as checking my motherboard drivers, BIOS, antenna, or Bluetooth hardware?
Answers
The 3.5 mm jack being labeled as a speaker is normal. Analog headphones are usually handled as a speaker output, while the microphone may appear as a separate input. That labeling is unrelated to the Bluetooth problem; focus on whether a Bluetooth adapter is listed correctly in Device Manager and whether the motherboard actually includes Bluetooth.

The Bluetooth radio itself could be faulty, especially since it has never worked on this PC. A simple USB Bluetooth adapter is an inexpensive way to test or replace the built-in hardware. If you use one, disable the internal Bluetooth device first if Windows detects both.

Since the problem has existed from the first day, check the exact motherboard model and install its current chipset, Wi-Fi/Bluetooth, and possibly BIOS updates from the manufacturerโs support page rather than relying only on Windows Update. Also make sure the external antenna is firmly connected; on many desktop motherboards it is used by both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. If Bluetooth has never appeared or worked correctly in Device Manager, the hardware may be missing, disabled, or defective.
MellowCactus47: Iโve never managed to connect any Bluetooth device since getting the PC, so this isnโt limited to one particular headset or controller. Iโll check the motherboard drivers and BIOS.

MellowCactus47: Would that still be worth trying if my desktop has an antenna attached to the motherboard?
