I have a laptop running only Fedora Workstation, and I'm trying to install Windows 11 from a Ventoy USB drive. After selecting the Windows ISO, I get this message: "Windows Boot Manager failed. EFI/Microsoft/Boot/BCD files are missing or contain errors." I checked the EFI folder, but those files aren't present. I created the installer from an ISO file. What should I check or change to get the installation started?

Using an ISO file is fine, but the ISO may be incomplete or corrupted. Verify its SHA-256 checksum against the value published by Microsoft, then copy the verified ISO to the Ventoy drive again. Also make sure the laptop is booting the USB in UEFI mode rather than legacy or CSM mode, and check that Secure Boot settings are compatible with your Ventoy version.
The BCD files mentioned in that error belong to the Windows boot environment; they won’t necessarily exist in Fedora’s current EFI partition. If the verified ISO still fails, recreate the installer with a fresh Ventoy installation or use a dedicated Windows USB creation tool from another computer. Back up your Fedora files first, since installing Windows can overwrite the drive and its existing partitions.
