My Windows 11 computer suddenly stopped showing the usual PIN sign-in option. When I enter my Microsoft account password instead, the screen briefly turns black, returns to the desktop wallpaper, and then sends me back to the sign-in screen. I've already tried uninstalling the latest quality update and starting in Safe Mode, but neither fixed the problem. What else can I try to regain access?

Make sure you’re entering the correct type of password. If the computer was switched between a Microsoft account and a local account, the passwords may be different. Check whether the password sign-in option is available even though the PIN is missing. If that doesn’t work, start Windows Recovery using installation media or by interrupting startup three times, then look for System Restore there.
From the sign-in screen, select the Power icon, hold Shift, and choose Restart. In the recovery options, try System Restore and pick a restore point from before the problem started.
I already tried Safe Mode, but unfortunately I still couldn’t get past the login problem.
