I'm reinstalling Windows 11 Home on my PC. I entered a product key in the system settings, and Windows accepted it there, but the installer says the key doesn't work when I try to use it during setup. The PC originally came with Windows installed, and I later bought a Windows key online. What should I check or do next?

If the computer originally came with Windows, it may have a digital license or an embedded key stored in the firmware. During installation, try choosing “I don’t have a product key” and install the same edition that was previously activated, such as Windows 11 Home. Once the PC connects to the internet, Windows should usually reactivate automatically. Also verify that the key you bought is specifically for Windows 11 Home and comes from a legitimate seller, since an edition mismatch or invalid key can cause setup to reject it.
