I'm trying to copy photos from a Sony Cyber-shot using a USB adapter on Windows 11, but opening the drive now shows "D:\ is not accessible. Access is denied." The adapter worked several times before, but it suddenly stopped. Disk Management lists the drive as "Healthy (Active, Primary Partition)."
I tried looking for the Security tab in the drive's Properties, but it isn't available. The same error happens on another laptop, and Recuva didn't help. The adapter was purchased online. Is there another safe way to access or copy the photos without losing them?

Since the same error happens on two computers, the adapter, memory card, or camera connection is more likely than a Windows permission problem. FAT32 removable drives often don’t show the Security tab, so that part is normal. Try removing the card and using a different, reputable card reader, or connect the camera directly with its USB cable and select its photo-transfer mode. Don’t format the card or run repair tools until the photos are backed up, because that could make recovery harder.
