Windows 11 Shows Wi‑Fi Connected but Nothing Can Reach the Internet

My custom-built Windows 11 PC suddenly started showing Wi‑Fi as connected and secured, but no applications or websites can access the internet. Discord cannot update, Steam will not open, and browsers cannot load pages. The same network works normally on my PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switches, and other devices. I have already tried the usual command-line fixes, reset the network settings multiple times, rebooted the router, and even tested a separate USB Wi‑Fi adapter, but the problem remains. The PC uses a Ryzen 9 7950X, GeForce RTX 3080, MSI MPG X670E Carbon WiFi motherboard, and 32 GB of RAM. Could this be a motherboard failure, or is there another likely cause?

Since another USB Wi‑Fi adapter has the same result, the physical Wi‑Fi hardware is less likely to be the cause. That points more toward DNS, TCP/IP configuration, a firewall or security program, or a recent Windows or driver change. If DNS changes do not help, temporarily test with third-party security software disabled and reinstall the motherboard's network drivers.

Check whether Windows has classified the network as public or private, and review the firewall settings for anything blocking browsers, Steam, or Discord. A corrupted network profile or an overly restrictive firewall can allow the Wi‑Fi connection itself while preventing applications from getting online.
