My mouse pointer suddenly became a few sizes larger than normal. It stays oversized even when the pointer-size slider is at its minimum, and the color options no longer work. I'm using a Lenovo ThinkPad with an Armageddon Mirage V5 mouse. How can I restore the normal pointer settings?

This may be related to a recent Windows preview update that caused cursor-size and appearance problems on some systems. Check your installed updates and consider removing the most recent preview update, especially if the pointer changed immediately afterward.
Open Settings > Accessibility > Mouse pointer and touch, select the default white pointer style, and move the size slider all the way down. You can also press Win + R, enter main.cpl, open the Pointers tab, choose the Windows Default scheme, and select Apply. If neither option works, a recent Windows or Lenovo update may have changed or locked the pointer settings.
I tried both methods, but neither worked. I think this may have started with a system update.
I had the same issue after installing the newest Windows preview update. Uninstalling that update restored the cursor to its normal size and brought back the appearance controls.
Uninstalling the preview update fixed it for me too. The cursor is back to its normal size now.
That seems likely. My device uses a non-English Windows installation, and the update appears to have reset my mouse-pointer settings.
