My PC froze while I was playing a game, so I held the power button to shut it down. When I turned it back on, Windows displayed a "Choose an option" recovery screen with only "Troubleshoot" and "Turn off your PC." I'm not very experienced with computer repairs and have been stuck trying to fix it. I'm not sure whether the issue is corrupted system files, a damaged drive, or something else. The recovery information also suggested that the drive's file-system data may be corrupted or showing as RAW. What should I try next without accidentally making things worse?

Go to Troubleshoot > Advanced options and try Startup Repair first. If it fails or keeps looping, open Command Prompt from the same menu and run a system-file check. A forced shutdown can sometimes damage Windows files. If the normal command doesn’t work in the recovery environment, the Windows drive may use a different letter there, so the repair may need to target the offline installation.
