I'm setting up one keyboard and mouse for both a Mac and a Windows 11 PC using a UGreen USB switch. The keyboard works normally, and everything behaves correctly on the Mac, but the mouse acts strangely on the Windows PC when connected through the switch.
The mouse uses a 2.4 GHz wireless receiver. After switching to the PC, it works for roughly 10–15 seconds, then starts continuously moving in the last direction I gave it until it reaches the edge of the screen. Connecting the mouse directly to the PC with a cable seems to work normally. I've also tried a second, newer UGreen switch, but the problem remains.
I've seen suggestions involving USB power-management settings, but changing those hasn't helped. Has anyone encountered this kind of runaway cursor, or found a reliable fix?

A practical workaround would be using a mouse and keyboard set that supports both Bluetooth and a dedicated wireless receiver. You could use Bluetooth with the Mac and the receiver with the PC, avoiding the USB switch entirely. It may not be as convenient as one-button switching, but it could isolate whether the switch is interfering with the 2.4 GHz receiver.
Since the mouse works when wired and fails only after going through the switch, I’d check the PC’s BIOS, chipset drivers, and motherboard firmware rather than relying only on Windows Update. A USB-controller or chipset compatibility issue could be causing corrupted input data after the receiver has been active for a few seconds. Also try the receiver in different USB ports, preferably a USB 2.0 port or one connected directly to the motherboard, and keep it away from USB 3 devices and cables that can interfere with 2.4 GHz signals.
I’ve been using Bluetooth as a workaround, but switching with a button would be much easier. Flipping the mouse over to reach its tiny selector is inconvenient, and Bluetooth takes a moment to wake and reconnect whenever the mouse sleeps. I’m hoping to get the USB switch working properly instead.
