If you want a major GPU upgrade, an RX 9070 XT is a strong value option, but I’d seriously consider putting some of the budget toward a newer CPU and motherboard first. A modern platform would let a high-end graphics card perform much closer to its full potential. You could reuse your DDR4 with a suitable upgrade platform, although options are more limited than with newer DDR5 systems.

The RTX 5080 would work, but the i5-8600 will hold it back in many games, especially at 1080p or high-refresh rates. At higher resolutions the GPU matters more, so the bottleneck may be less noticeable. Before buying, make sure your power supply has enough wattage and the correct connectors.
