Xbox Series S Can Hear Audio but No Headset Microphone Works

My Xbox Series S plays game and chat audio normally, but it suddenly stopped detecting my voice through any headset. I originally used a GameSir controller with a JBL headset, then tested a standard Xbox controller and a Razer headset with the same result. I checked the communication permissions, updated the controller firmware, confirmed the headset mute switch was off, reset the MAC address, and even factory-reset the console. I also tested three different headsets on another Series S signed into the same Xbox account, but none of them picked up my voice. The microphone works when I plug the headset into my PC, and I'm not communication-banned. Could an Xbox account or console setting connected to my PC be causing this?

Since the microphone works on your PC and the issue happens with multiple controllers, consoles, and headsets, check the headset cable and controller connection first. A 3-pole AUX plug with three metal sections carries stereo audio but usually has no microphone connection; you need a 4-pole headset plug with four metal sections. Also check the GameSir controller’s physical mute button near the headset port. The power and HDMI cables won’t affect microphone input, so focus on the headset plug, adapter, and controller audio port.
