Xiaomi Poco Pad Suddenly Won’t Connect to My Home Wi‑Fi

My Xiaomi Poco Pad Global Version running HyperOS 3.0.302.0 stopped connecting to my home Wi‑Fi after the router was unplugged while powered on. The tablet shows "Connection failed," but it connects normally to Wi‑Fi at friends' homes and at work. Every other device in the house can still connect, and the router itself has internet access.

I've already forgotten and re-added the network, tried static IP and DHCP, switched between randomized and device MAC addresses, reset Wi‑Fi and Bluetooth settings, reset encryption and credentials, disabled band steering, added the tablet's MAC address to the router's DHCP list, removed it from the user list, power-cycled the router, and performed a factory reset. Disabling band steering allowed the tablet to connect for roughly 35–45 minutes before it failed again.

The router is a Huawei OptiXstar HG8145X6-10 using carrier-customized firmware, with stock settings otherwise. What could be causing this device-specific connection problem, and what should I try next?

Since the router is online and your other devices work, this probably isn’t an internet outage. The carrier firmware and the tablet’s Wi‑Fi 6 settings may be interacting badly, especially around band steering, DHCP leases, or the tablet’s MAC address. Try creating separate 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz network names, leave band steering disabled, and remove any old DHCP reservation for the tablet before reconnecting it. If that still fails, ask the carrier to check the router’s client or access-control logs and confirm that the tablet’s MAC address hasn’t been blocked. A HyperOS update or a temporary compatibility setting such as WPA2-only security may also be worth testing.

The router does show a normal internet connection, and it’s only this tablet that cannot connect. All of my siblings’ devices work normally. The router is also running firmware customized by the internet provider.
