What’s a Good Modern Replacement for the AMD FX-6300?

I've had my AMD FX-6300 for over a decade now, and combined with 16GB of RAM and an SSD, it's still chugging along just fine! However, I mainly use my Xbox for gaming now. Back when I bought it, it was praised for its excellent price-to-performance ratio, giving great value for money. I haven't been keeping up with newer CPUs lately and I'm curious about what modern AMD processors offer a similar level of value without falling into the entry-level or flagship categories. Ideally, I'm looking for a mid-tier or upper-mid-tier processor that I could still be using 10 years from now. Any recommendations?

Given how long your FX-6300 has lasted, I'd say any of today's entry-level six-core CPUs would serve you well too. They should easily keep up for another decade!

Yeah, it actually wasn't as bad as people made it seem back in the day. Most games were single-threaded, so the FX-6300 held its own against i5s and i7s at the time.
