Hey everyone! I'm looking to build my first gaming PC and I need some advice on which CPU to pick. I plan to play games at 1440p with my 9070XT, and I want to avoid getting something that's overkill. I'm considering the 9700X but I'm not sure if it's too much just for gaming. Also, I'd appreciate recommendations on the best version of the 9070XT, like Sapphire or XFX. Thanks a lot!

My wife and I both use the 9070XT. She has the XFX Merc (in white) and I have the Sapphire Pulse, which is the standard model. They perform almost the same, so just grab the cheapest option you find. For CPUs, if you enjoy games that are more CPU-intensive, like MMORPGs or strategy games, I’d lean towards the X3D models. But for general gaming, any AM5 CPU like the 9600X or 9700X should serve you well!
For your needs, I'd suggest looking into the 7600X3D, 9600X, or 9700X. They all have good performance for gaming without going overboard. The 7800X3D and 9800X3D are great too, but they might be more than you need depending on the games you play.
I’m mainly playing open-world games like Clair Obscur and RDR2, and Forza. If I go for the more powerful models, do you think they'll handle it?
