How Can I Stop My New Laptop from Heating Up So Much?

I recently bought a new HP laptop with an Intel Core Ultra 7-155H, 32GB RAM, and a 1TB hard drive. It's been working well for me, but I'm noticing it heats up quite a bit under certain conditions, especially when I use Clip Studio Paint or play games like Deltarune. The fan gets pretty loud, which is annoying. My old Acer laptop didn't heat up this much while playing the same games. I'm looking for any tips or settings adjustments to help manage the temperature better. Also, I have this OMEN gaming hub software on my laptop that I'm unsure about. Could that be affecting things? I'm not super technical, so any advice would be appreciated!

You might want to try using software like ThrottleStop to manage performance, especially if you're dealing with high heat. Also, don't forget to explore power profiles in Windows; setting a power-saving profile for lighter tasks and a performance profile for gaming could make a difference. It sounds like you've got lots of options to explore!

Yeah, that fan noise is a common thing with gaming laptops, especially when they’re working hard! You're on the right track thinking about ventilation. A cooling pad could help, and just giving it some space for airflow can really make a difference. If your laptop's usually plugged in while gaming, that could also be contributing. Good luck with it!

Sounds like you've entered the gaming laptop world! Your CPU is pretty powerful and can get hot when under load, especially if you're pushing it with gaming or heavy programs. Check if there are any unnecessary background apps running; they could be hogging resources. Also, make sure the laptop has good airflow, maybe consider getting a stand to elevate it for better ventilation. Might also help to check if it supports bypass charging—it can sometimes help with power management when gaming.
