Looking for CPU Upgrade Recommendations

I'm currently using a Ryzen 5 3600 CPU, paired with a 5750xt GPU and 32 GB of 3200 RAM. My 600 watt EVGA PSU handles it all, but I've noticed that the CPU is definitely bottlenecking my system. I've had the 3600 for about six years now, and while it's served me well, I'm ready for an upgrade. Most of the games I play are more CPU-intensive than GPU-intensive, so I'm thinking that a bit of overhead would be useful. I would prefer a solution that doesn't require getting a new motherboard, but I understand if that's necessary for a new socket. Any recommendations? Thanks!

It sounds like a solid upgrade is in order! The 5700X3D is considered one of the best options for your setup, but its price has really shot up lately. If I were you, I might hold off until you're ready to move to AM5. But if you're looking to stick with AM4 for now, check out the 5800X or even a 5600X—there are often good used deals on 5600Xs out there!

Yeah, you've missed the great deals on the 5700X3D, but I suggest trying to snag one second-hand if you can find it. Otherwise, a 5800X3D could also be a great choice to give you that extra performance boost you're looking for.

If you're keen to skip the AM5 socket, aim for a 5000-series x3D CPU. They generally have at least 4 cores, but ideally 8 for the games you’re playing. Keeps your options open and avoids motherboard hassle in the short term!

Thanks for the suggestion! I might just consider going for a new motherboard with one of those options since I've been hearing that AM4 might have its limitations.
