Hey everyone! I recently upgraded my PC and here are my current specs:
* CPU: Intel 12400F
* GPU: NVD 3060TI by Palit
* RAM: DDR4 32 GB, 3600Mhz
* Motherboard: Asus Prime b760-plus d4
* Power Supply: 700W by be quiet
* Cooler: Gammax 400 (I think, not completely sure)
I just bought a new RTX 5070, and now I'm considering upgrading my CPU. I have two options:
1. Get an Intel 14600KF and install it in my current motherboard. I'm a bit concerned about whether my motherboard can handle this high-temperature CPU, especially since I won't be overclocking it.
2. Wait for about 6-7 months to save up for a new AM5 motherboard along with a new CPU, RAM, and water cooling.
I prefer the first option, but I'm unsure about compatibility and performance with my existing setup. Any advice would be appreciated!

Your current setup looks good! Instead of the 14600KF, have you considered the i9-12900KF? It's a bit older but it’s a solid upgrade for the price and should last you a while. Just remember, it might get a bit hot without proper cooling, so make sure your cooler can handle it!

I checked, and the 12900KF costs about 40% more than the 14600KF where I live. Plus, from what I've seen, it's only about 5-10% better than the 14600KF, so I’d stick with the latter if you're on a budget.
