Why Does My PC Stop Recognizing the W Key When It’s Held Down?

I've been struggling with an annoying issue where my PC suddenly stops responding to the W key being held down in various games. My character won't move anymore, but all other key inputs still work fine. The only way to get it to recognize that I'm holding down the W key is to press it again. This issue seems to happen randomly, but once it starts, it gets worse until I have to restart my PC.

I've already tried several solutions, like getting a new keyboard, disabling sticky keys, checking for driver updates, turning off overlays for Steam and Discord, and even changing USB ports, but nothing seems to fix the problem. I'm at a loss here and can't find anything online that goes beyond the basics I've already tried. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Have you checked what operating system you're using? I had a similar problem while playing Minecraft on Linux where I had to disable a timer that was causing my system to misinterpret the key hold as a mistype. Just a thought!
