I accidentally dropped my iPhone in water for a few seconds, and although the speakers seem fine and everything else is normal, I'm unsure when I can safely charge it. It's almost dead, and I really need it charged for tomorrow morning by 6 AM, but it's currently 9 PM. Should I wait to charge it?

I’d say just wait at least a day or two before plugging it in if you aren’t using a wireless charger. It's better to be safe than sorry!
Best bet is to turn off your phone and just cross your fingers! Use wireless charging if you have one, and good luck!
Since it was just for a few seconds, check that the charging port is completely dry. If it is, go ahead and plug it in! If you can, use a wireless charger to avoid any issues with the port.
If possible, try wireless charging! Just be wary that some phones have warnings about wet charging ports, so keep an eye out for any notifications or errors.
Most modern phones, like yours, are water-resistant to an extent. The main concern is whether there's water in the charging port. If you plug it in and it starts charging without any error messages, you're good! If you get a warning, it might still be wet.
Just a tip: it’s always good to have a USB battery pack ready to go in case you need some extra juice!
I second that! Wireless is definitely safer if you don’t want to risk it.
