I'm using a laptop model 80E5, which currently has 8GB of DDR3L RAM. It's about 6-7 years old, and while it's running well, I'm having trouble with certain apps and games. I'd like to know if I can upgrade it to 16GB of RAM, and if so, how can I confirm its compatibility?

If your laptop is a Lenovo G50-80, then you can definitely upgrade to 16GB of DDR3L RAM using 2x 8GB SODIMMs. You can find them for around $40 on eBay. That said, it might be worth considering the age of your laptop since it can't properly support Windows 11, which may influence your overall experience.

You would know if you just took a look at the manual! But honestly, it’s kind of tricky keeping those around after so many years.

Have you checked your laptop's specifications? Sometimes the RAM is soldered in and isn't removable. Also, take a look at the CPU specs; that can tell you if the laptop supports 16GB or even 32GB of RAM.

It looks like you have 2 slots in your laptop—one currently holds the 8GB DDR3L stick, and the other slot is free. So, you should be good to go for the upgrade!
