Looking for a Wi-Fi Card Under $30

I'm on the hunt for a network card that I can buy for under $30 to help me play CS 2. The issue is that my dad, who's a tech-savvy guy, has been blocking my access to the internet in various ways. After we battled through Windows Family Safety for a while, he finally gave up on that, but now he's using an app to control access to our home Wi-Fi. He even took away my Wi-Fi card, so I'm stuck on Ethernet, which he can just unplug whenever he wants to stop me from playing at night. I'm hoping to buy my own Wi-Fi card, thinking he might not take that one too. But if he does, I might just have to give up gaming altogether.

While it's great to want your own Wi-Fi card, it might also be a good idea to consider professional help if you feel like gaming is a major issue in your life. Finding a balance between playtime and responsibilities is important. Your future self might really appreciate it.

Honestly, you might need to have an open conversation with your dad about this situation. Just getting a Wi-Fi card might not change things; he can still find ways to block you from accessing the internet, like limiting connections through the router. It's important to understand the reasons behind his actions—if your gaming is affecting other responsibilities, that’s probably why he's so strict about it.

You should think about why your dad is so against you gaming. Most parents wouldn't restrict games unless they thought it was starting to interfere with more important things. Maybe if you show him you're managing your time well, he might ease up a bit.

That makes sense. Gaining trust can really help change those strict rules.

Yeah, showing him I can handle it would definitely help.

If you're in a pinch, you can use your phone to tether via a USB cable instead of relying on Wi-Fi. Just thought I’d throw that out there!

Thanks for that tip, I didn't even know this was an option!
