Is my i5-11400F underperforming?

I'm curious if my i5-11400F is delivering its best performance. I've noticed that I get lower FPS in games compared to some videos I've watched. I recently upgraded my GPU from a GTX 1650 to a GTX 5060 and I have 32GB of RAM running at 2133MHz. In games like CS2 and Valorant, I typically see FPS between 100 and 150, but there are noticeable drops. Any insights on whether something might be holding it back?

How many RAM sticks are you using? Are they dual-channel or four sticks? Using four sticks can sometimes add complexity if they aren't configured properly. If three of them require XMP for speed and your BIOS is locked, that could definitely hinder performance.

It sounds like your RAM could definitely be a bottleneck. Have you tried enabling the XMP profile in your BIOS? That can really help you get faster RAM speeds, which your CPU can benefit from. Just keep in mind, if you're on an Acer pre-built, it might not support over 2666MHz, but it's worth a shot since 2133MHz is pretty slow.

Also, when you mentioned those videos, were they featuring systems with an i5-11400F and a GTX 5060? Just a thought, but for games like CS2 and Valorant, the CPU is often the limiting factor. Make sure to check how much of your GPU is actually being used; an unlocked framerate can really change things.
