I'm looking to play Cyberpunk 2077 without ray tracing or path tracing, aiming for high settings rather than ultra. My goal is to hit around 120 FPS, or at least 100 FPS, even in the busy areas of Night City, all while playing at 1080p resolution. Here are my specs:
- CPU: Intel i7 7700k
- GPU: Nvidia Geforce RTX 5060 8GB
- RAM: 32GB
Am I being too optimistic here?

I’d personally say no way will that CPU push 100 FPS, even at low settings like 720p.
While it will run, you might not see 100 FPS. I'd guess you'll get around 40-60 FPS in crowded zones.
1080p with DLSS and maybe frame generation? Sounds achievable to me!
You're right to be optimistic! The 5060 should get you close to 100 FPS without ray tracing. The i7 7700K might limit performance, especially with more demanding settings, so keep that in mind.
You might get close, especially with the 5060, but the 7700K could bottleneck your performance when the game gets intense. Using DLSS upscaling could help, but don't expect miracles with the CPU limiting things.
To give you an idea, my wife has an i3-10100 with a 3050 8GB and gets around 50-60 FPS at 1440p with DLSS on Medium. I get over 60 FPS with my 11700K and 4070Ti at 4k with very high settings. So, hitting 100 FPS at 1080p high settings seems doable for you, especially with DLSS or frame generation. Just keep in mind the CPU's handling of dense NPC areas might affect performance.
