I'm putting together my first PC in the Netherlands with a budget of roughly €1,950, and I'm trying to choose a reliable, quiet power supply with some upgrade headroom. The build uses an RX 9070 XT, and I want a unit that pairs well with the other components, has modern connectors, and won't risk instability or damage. I'm considering these models: Thermaltake Toughpower GT 850W 80+ Gold fully modular, Chieftec VEGA M White 850W, Montech Century II 1050W PCIe 5.1 80+ Gold, and MSI MAG A850GL PCIe 5 White. Which would be the best choice?

A quality 650W supply may technically be enough for an RX 9070 XT, but choosing 850W is a sensible buffer for transient spikes, future upgrades, and quieter operation under normal loads. The 1,050W Montech is more capacity than this system needs unless you already have a particularly power-hungry upgrade planned.
You don’t really need 1,050W for this build. An 850W unit should comfortably handle the RX 9070 XT and still leave reasonable room for future upgrades, while avoiding unnecessary extra cost. Of these options, I’d focus on the model with the strongest independent reviews, protections, warranty, and noise performance rather than simply choosing the highest wattage.
That makes sense, but I’m still unsure which of the 850W models would be the safest and quietest pick.
I mainly wanted extra headroom and a general safety margin, so 850W sounds like the better middle ground.
