My Apple Account balance has been locked since 2021, while the rest of my account still works. I've contacted support many times, and post-sales staff keep submitting unblock requests that never lead to a resolution. I'm repeatedly transferred between departments without anyone explaining why the balance is restricted. I also haven't filed any chargebacks against the Apple ID. Has anyone dealt with a similar long-term balance lock or found a useful escalation path?

It’s important to distinguish between a fully locked Apple Account and a restriction on the store balance. Since only the balance is affected, ask support to identify the exact account or payment-security restriction and provide a case number for every escalation. If regular phone support keeps recycling the same request, ask for a written explanation of what must be verified or corrected before the balance can be restored.
After several years, repeated unblock requests probably won’t help unless someone reviews the original restriction and explains the reason for it. Gather purchase receipts, proof of ownership, and records of previous case numbers, then request a formal account-security review. Avoid creating replacement accounts or repeatedly changing payment details, since that could make the review more complicated.

Only the balance is locked. I’ve been told almost nothing beyond repeated promises that another unblock request was submitted, and this has continued since 2021.
