I have a car tire inflator that plugs into a standard 12V cigarette-lighter socket. I mostly use it for my bike, but my car is parked far from my apartment, so I'd like to run the pump indoors from a regular wall outlet. What should I search for, and what specifications do I need to check? I'd prefer to keep using this multifunctional pump instead of buying a separate bicycle pump.

Pay close attention to the pump’s current requirement. Check the label, manual, or original packaging for its amperage, then choose a 12V supply rated for at least that much current. Small, cheap adapters may trip, overheat, or fail when powering an air inflator.
Look for an AC-to-DC power supply with a 12V cigarette-lighter socket. Wall outlets provide AC, while the pump expects 12V DC, so the adapter needs to convert the power and provide the right connector.
Another option is a portable jump starter or battery pack with a 12V outlet. You can connect the pump directly to that without running an extension cord from the wall, and the jump starter can also be useful for emergencies.
