Are My CPU Temps Too High for a Ryzen 5 3600?

I've got a Ryzen 5 3600 CPU, and I'm noticing that when my PC is idle, it's sitting around 70 degrees Celsius. When I run games, the temperature jumps between 70 and 95 degrees. I just reapplied thermal paste since it had been about five years. Are these temperature readings normal, or could something else be wrong?

Those temps do seem pretty high for your Ryzen 5 3600. You might want to look into getting a better CPU cooler to bring those temperatures down a bit.

Yeah, that sounds too high. What kind of cooler are you using?

I'm using the stock cooler that came with the Ryzen 3600.

With fresh thermal paste, you should generally be seeing around 40-50 degrees at idle on the upper end. If it's stuck at 70, it might be worth checking if your cooler is mounted properly.
