Hey everyone! I've been using my iPhone 12 for a few years now and absolutely love it. However, over the past few months, it's been lagging like crazy, sometimes to the point where it becomes unusable. For instance, I can hit the power button and it takes almost 30 seconds for the phone to respond and actually shut down. Right now, it's lagging even as I type this out. I'm not in a position to upgrade, so I'm hoping for some advice on how to fix this issue!

Don't forget to check your battery health! If it's struggling, that could definitely slow down your phone. Apple offers a battery replacement service too, which is pretty straightforward.
It sounds like your phone might be lagging due to it being almost full. I used to see this happen with a lot of devices. You should check how much storage you have left. Sometimes, just freeing up some space can help a lot.
You could try powering it off completely. Press and hold the power button until you see the option to shut it down, then just slide the button to turn it off. Wait a minute after that, then hold the power button again until you see the Apple logo.
Also, if you have a lot of apps open, that might be causing the slowdown too. Just swipe up from the bottom to see all the open apps and close the ones you're not using. If your battery is degrading, that could affect performance as well. Just a reminder that a battery replacement is around $69 in the U.S.
