Help! My Desktop Won’t Factory Reset

I've been struggling with this desktop for a few months. It used to belong to someone else, and now it has parental controls that I can't figure out how to remove. I've decided it's time to just do a factory reset, but every time I try, I get an error message saying, 'there was a problem resetting your PC.' I'm using Windows 10 and I'm not really tech-savvy. Is it worth taking it to Geek Squad to see if they can help me fix this?

You can totally reinstall Windows using a USB stick. It's usually quick and effective! Just grab an 8GB USB drive and use the Windows Media Creation Tool from Microsoft to create a bootable USB. It'll save you a lot of headaches compared to the built-in reset feature, which can be super glitchy.

Yes, you can definitely take it to Geek Squad, but there's no guarantee they'll be able to help. It's possible the parental controls are still linked to a Microsoft account from the previous user. How did you get this computer? That could shed some light on the connection to the accounts.

It was my stepbrother's. He's quite a bit younger than me, and my stepmom set the controls, but she doesn't remember how she did it. I tried to find more info from Microsoft, but I might have overlooked something.
