Hey everyone! I just made the switch to Pop!_OS from Windows 10 and I'm feeling a bit lost. I'm not sure what all it offers or what I should be focusing on. Any tips or insights from those who use it daily?

I've been using it daily for just a week now and I'm really getting the hang of it! It's been a pleasant experience so far.
I've been using Ubuntu, which is pretty much the same as Pop!_OS, for a while now. A lot of support is available online, so if you get stuck, try Googling "Pop!_OS" first, then "Ubuntu" if that doesn't help. Just be prepared, Linux can be a bit tricky at times! I had a tough time getting my DualSense controller to work, but eventually got help from some devs in a Discord channel. It's nice to be free of Windows' latest annoyances, right? Also, I’m considering moving my other Windows 10 PC to Pop!_OS soon!
I've been on 22.04 for almost two years now and I love it! I'm waiting to update to 24.04 with the new COSMIC desktop once it's stable. It's been a great experience for me.
I mainly use it as a secondary OS alongside Ubuntu. Pop!_OS is great, especially the tiling feature! To get started, familiarize yourself with some key apps: the run launcher (like the search bar in Windows), the file manager, and explore the settings for unique features. Also, if you’ve never tried the tiling option, give it a shot – it's a fun way to manage your workspace!
If you’re still struggling, you might also want to check out Zorin OS. It's designed for people switching from Windows and has a very gentle learning curve. You’ll feel right at home!
I used Pop!_OS for over a year and found it to be a solid option for newcomers. Just install the apps you need through the store, and if you're using something like the Heroic games launcher, install Flatseal to manage drive access. Also, check out the Disks utility app to easily mount additional drives if needed!
I really like using Pop!_OS because it makes certain customizations easier than Ubuntu. But we definitely need more context! What do you plan to do with your computer? Pop!_OS could be the perfect fit, but many Windows programs won't run natively. Let us know what software you typically use!
