I'm in a tough spot here. My laptop is literally falling apart and I think it all started when I treated myself to a game. The glue that keeps my screen and base together melted, likely due to overheating. So I tried to tape it back with glow-in-the-dark tape, but now the right hinge is coming off, exposing the insides. I can't share pics, but it's pretty bad. I really don't want to pay for repairs since I'm broke. Is there any way I can fix this myself? Every time I close the lid, it just seems to get worse. I think the hinge is the main issue. Any advice would be appreciated!

For a quick fix, you could use hot glue! There are some helpful videos online, just remember to power down, disconnect the battery, and wait a bit before you start working inside your laptop.
Definitely look for a new hinge and find a tutorial on how to open up your laptop. While you’re in there, give everything a good clean and you should be good to go!
Avoid using hot glue or any thermoplastic adhesive since it melts under heat. Try a more suitable adhesive that can handle higher temperatures.
