I upgraded my AWS Skill Builder account to the Individual annual subscription because I was told a paid account was required to redeem a student reward or voucher through the AWS Builder Center Student Rewards program. I didn't realize it would create a full annual charge of $449 plus tax, totaling about $502.88, and I can't afford that amount.
I've already canceled the subscription. The account says it won't renew, but the invoice still appears as unpaid or due, so I'm worried the card will be charged even though it doesn't have enough available funds. Has anyone dealt with a similar AWS Training and Certification billing issue, and is there a way to request a cancellation, refund, or waiver before payment is collected?

It’s worth speaking directly with support rather than relying on the cancellation status. Canceling usually prevents future renewals, but it may not automatically remove an invoice that was already created. Support may be able to void or adjust it, especially if the subscription was just started and hasn’t been used, but there’s no guarantee.
Contact the AWS Training and Certification team through their official support contact form as soon as possible. Explain that the upgrade was made because of confusing voucher instructions, that you canceled immediately, and that the invoice is still unpaid. They can review the account and let you know whether the charge can be canceled or waived.
I already opened a case, but it’s still unassigned. Is it okay to submit another request through the training support form as well?
