We’re considering Profwiz to move Windows 11 devices from a local domain to Entra ID and would like to keep existing profiles. Has anyone run into OneDrive or profile issues, especially with heavily used devices?
Any OneDrive gotchas with Profwiz on Windows 11?

Reports vary. Some migrations have left OneDrive working normally, while others have had sync trouble or a folder path still pointing at the old profile. I’d test a few representative machines first, including one with a lot of synced folders and data, then check sync status and Explorer before rolling it out broadly.

For a small batch, Profwiz may be a reasonable way to avoid wiping devices, but don’t treat OneDrive as guaranteed just because the files are cloud-backed. Have a recovery plan for unlinking and relinking OneDrive, and verify the local folder location and sync behavior after each test migration.

Scale changes the equation. If you’re moving hundreds or more, orchestration can reduce the amount of hands-on checking, though it adds its own planning and testing. For a smaller set, a carefully staged Profwiz pilot may be simpler. Either way, decide in advance what you’ll do if a profile or sync issue shows up.

One caution from the reports: machines with lots of data or many synced folders may be more troublesome than ordinary user setups. I’d pay special attention to sync completion and whether Explorer stays responsive. If those machines don’t behave reliably in the pilot, a reset-and-reconfigure route may be the cleaner fallback.

That’s the kind of edge case I’m trying to catch. I’ll make sure the pilot includes a heavily used device.
